Fitness Reviews: Wantable Fitness Edit Review – September 2015

Hardly a day goes by when I’m not in workout clothes. Let’s be clear I’m not saying I work out every day, but why would you not wear gloriously comfy spandex and sports bras whenever you can? And having someone handpick fitness gear for me so I don’t have to brave the terrifying 3-way mirrors at a store that will remain nameless? Dream come true.

So obviously I was stoked to test drive Wantable’s Fitness Edit. This is essentially a personally styling session by mail, where you receive five items to try on in the comfort of your own home, keep what you want, and send back what you don’t (return label is provided).

As for pricing, you pay a $20 styling fee, which is nonrefundable but IS applied to your final purchase. You receive an additional 20% off when you keep 3-4 items, or 30% off when you keep all 5.

But I know the burning question you have: How do they select clothing just for me? The answer: An all-inclusive (but brief) survey where you provide your sizes then answer questions ranging from the types of items you’d like to receive (sports bras, shorts, pants, tanks, hoodies, etc.) to the activities you do to the colors you prefer (a rating system of dislike, like, and love keeps it easy). You also select the price ranges; for example, I’ll never receive a $70 tank I’ll be tempted to keep (thank goodness).

Check out my Wantable Fitness Edit review.

I liked the packaging – sleek, simple and made me excited to open it. Let’s take a look at what was inside…

Glyder Performa tank ($36)
Obsessed with this super soft, lightweight, form-fitting tank with superior wicking capabilities, perfect for the sweatiest of workouts. I’m definitely keeping this and am thinking I need more tanks of this luxurious material. The medium fit perfectly.

Glyder Method Tank ($38)
I love the color and material of this one but just wasn’t crazy about it overall. I think the medium was just too large.

Glyder Lolita sports bra ($50)
My immediate thought was “LOVE!” when I spotted this floral number. I put it on and went straight to my megaformer class. I received the medium and it fit well but didn’t have the MOST support so I probably wouldn’t run in it, but it’s perfect for low-impact workouts (barre, yoga, spin, etc.). My main takeaway was that it didn’t give me armpit fat FTW. Keeping it.

Glyder Hot in Here Shorts ($40, above)
This was the dark horse of the bunch. At first glance I was like, “Ugh these aren’t my style and I would have preferred a pant” but I’m SO glad I got these. These definitely fall into the “booty short” category but they’re surprisingly flattering with slimming material (I swear they give me a thigh gap I hadn’t seen previously) and a wide waistband to eliminate muffin top. They’re perfect for hot yoga and/or any activity where you want to show off your butt and legs. Definitely keeping.

Teel Loose V-neck Tank ($36)
This was comfortable and I liked the V-neck but the baggy swing shape just wasn’t my style. I didn’t hate it but it’s not something I want to purchase.

So I purchased the shorts, sports bra, and black tank and took selfies to prove it.
The total was $126 but with the 20% off (for purchasing 3 items), I only paid $100.80! For a quality top, bottom, and sports bra, that is definitely a steal (considering one pair of pants at one of America’s most beloved fitness stores can cost MORE than that).

I was really a fan of my Edit and think they did a great job choosing items for me. My only (MINOR) complaint is that I put in my notes, “If tops are tight, I wear a medium, but if they’re looser, I usually do a small,” and the two looser tops I received were mediums (I would have worn a small at least for the purple one). But this is something I can make clearer to Wantable and hopefully would be reflected the next time. Overall, I REALLY love this concept, would definitely do it again, was so pleased with the items I received, and am officially a booty short wearer (THANKS, WANTABLE).
