Style Reviews: Wantable Style Edit Review – April 2016

I’ve always found that dressing for spring is one of the hardest seasons fashion-wise. Maybe it has something to do with the weather transition or my love of dark-colored clothing or perhaps my general distaste for pastels, but whatever the reason, I always struggle around this time of year to get my style on point.

Luckily, I had my Style Edit to help me along this time around- thank goodness for Wantable and their lovely stylists!

Here’s how to sign up: start off by paying a $20 nonrefundable styling fee which will be taken off your total at the end. Then, fill out a style quiz indicating your likes, dislikes and loves so that the stylists can pick out five items that match your preferences. If you’ve read my other reviews, you’ll know that I’m a fan of rocker chic apparel and you can totally tell based on the great pieces I’m sent each month.

When your package arrives, you’ll spend the following five days trying everything on to decide what’s worth keeping. Don’t worry, you’re only billed for what you keep; everything else will be sent back in a prepaid USPS envelope.

So, let’s jump in. My Style Edit for April was all about transitioning into the warmer weather with lighter colors and fabrics.

Lumiere Light Blue Striped Top, $45

This comfy top stands out amongst other striped shirts with unique side slits for a flattering fit. I’m a sucker for stripes and this shirt fits comfortably enough to wear on a relaxing lounge-around-the-house day. The slits are a bit too risque for work though, so keep it in your casual, off-the-clock wardrobe.

Chaser Def Leppard Tee, $59

I love the loose fit, gray design and rocker vibes of this tank, but I’m unfortunately not a Def Leppard fan. I don’t like wearing shirts brandishing artists I don’t really know much about, it doesn’t seem authentic. If you are a Def Leppard fan, this comfortable and chic tank is a great option for the coming summer months. Pair it with destroyed denim shorts and some strappy gladiator sandals!

DEX Manhattan White Denim with Knee Slits, $79

White denim is a fashion trend I would have never had the courage to try out without Wantable. After receiving these rocker jeans with knee slits in my Edit, I cautiously but optimistically tried them on to find that they fit like a dream and offered a splash of color to my lifelessly dark wardrobe.

DEX 3/4 Slv Front & Back V Neck Top in Black, $59

I’m always on board with having another simple and versatile black shirt. This timeless staple is slimming and comfortable with three quarter sleeves to help transition from one weather extreme into another over the course of this very back-and-forth spring. This one was an absolute keeper for me.

Miilla Faux Suede Bias Jacket, $89

This faux suede jacket is different from any other jacket I own, so I was excited to try it on and test it out. It features a comfortable knit lining and two zippering options- one traditionally right up the middle and a unique asymmetrical option. Paired with black leggings, it was the perfect look for a Saturday night on the town!

So, you want to keep all five pieces this month? No problem! In fact, that even earns you an additional 20% off. Your total for all five pieces comes out to $331. Once you take off the 20% for keeping all five pieces and subtract the original $20 styling fee, your grand total is only 244.80!
