neutral workout gear black and white

Bold, bright colors not your thing? No problem– but that’s no excuse for boring fitness apparel. Monochromatic, geometric prints are trending, and their neutral hues make it easy to switch things up. Pair patterned pieces with your well-loved basic black, or mix and match to your heart’s content. Explore neutral workout gear that packs a punch… no neon in sight.

style personality

Defining your personal style can be a tricky task. It’s complex and constantly evolving, because—guess what—so are you! However, there are some distinct advantages to developing a signature look. You save money (and feel more confident) when you know that midi skirts leave your petite frame looking a bit “sister wife.” You save time (and avoid your boss’ wrath for being late) when you know exactly what to put on in the morning. That’s where we come in.

Our quiz’s “love, like, dislike” scale allows you to formulate your own unique ratio of the five major style personalities, and you can update your preferences at any time. Captivated by a recent trip to Morocco? –love Boho. Career change from a startup to the corporate world? –dislike Casual Chic. Create your individual recipe for style success, and explore the details and trends we’re loving for each style personality.

feminine spring styles everyday denim

This season’s flowing silhouettes, floral prints, and airy off-the-shoulder tops have us on cloud nine. Combined with the heady delirium of early spring breezes, we’re ecstatic enough to pile it all on, turning into some sort of frothy, bohemian cupcake. (To be clear, your stylist does not recommend this look, ladies.) Instead, feminine spring styles shine brightest against the backdrop of dependable denim. Here are six ways we’re pairing our go-to closet staples with the softer side of spring fashion.

Denim Jackets

The No-Brainer

Top off your spring frocks with a classic denim jacket in any wash you desire.

1. Floral Prints
From delicate pastel blossoms to brilliantly-colored abstract blooms, any floral goes this season. Ground brighter prints with a dark wash jacket and offset girly patterns with a lightly destructed style.

2. Lace Details
A lace dress screams (er, chirps?) spring. Choose a simple nude sheath with a lace overlay or a gossamer blush dress with lace applique. Top with your favorite denim jacket and keep footwear light.

Denim Shorts

The Chameleon

Versatile denim shorts transform to suit every style, from boho to timeless.

1. Shoulder-Baring Tops
It’s time to embrace spring’s most widespread trend. Nab your favored version– whether one-shoulder, off-the-shoulder or with cold-shoulder cutouts– to easily upgrade your well-loved cutoffs.

2. Pale-Hued Blazers
Contrast casual denim with a softly structured ivory blazer. Complete this classic, ladylike look with a neutral cotton or linen tank and sandals with a low block heel.

Denim Shirts

The Go-To

Dressed up or down, turn to a denim button-down for any occasion.

1. Double Denim
Nail this duo with a patterned chambray shirt over fresh, white denim. Wear open with a complimentary patterned shirt or buttoned up and front-tucked with a statement necklace.

2. Full Skirts
Opposites attract when you top a full, patterned skirt with a lightly distressed denim shirt. Roll up your sleeves, add a red lip, and make everything pop with a bright heel.

Denim Bottoms

The Unexpected

Play with proportion. Try a dress or tunic over skinnies or cropped flares.

1. Boho Tunics
Pair a tropical print tunic with cropped kick flares. Maximize the boho vibes with free-flowing details like a frilled hem, voluminous sleeves, or cold shoulder and balance with a substantial sandal.

2. Sheer Maxis
Wear a gauzy floor-length dress boldly over a longline bralette or demurely over an embellished cami. Skinnies with zipper details lend the perfect proportion– and a hint of edge.

sweater weather lightweight sweaters

Hello, spring! We’re welcoming warmer days with arms wide open, but easy there, slugger. Don’t swear off your knitwear just yet. Fluctuating temps still call for effortless, lightweight layers to ease into the season gracefully. No fair weather friend, these sweet spring sweaters have your back, so you’ll stay comfortable, no matter the weather.

Sporty Hoodie

Sporty Hoodie

This relaxed lace-up style is our go-to, from laidback weekends to Opening Day. Pair with literally any denim or leggings–just make sure your sneaker game is on point with a fresh pair of bright white kicks.

V-Neck Cardigan

V-Neck Cardigan

A wrapped silhouette and featherweight construction make layering a breeze. There’s no wrong way to wear this simple silhouette. Front-tuck into a high-waisted skirt or paper-bag waist pants, or throw on over your favorite semi-fitted dress.

Crocheted Cardigan

Crocheted Cardigan

Delicate lace appliqué distinguishes this comfortable, draped style. Dial up the femme factor with a floral blouse, or put all focus on the special details by layering over a simple ivory or black top. Boho accessories add the perfect finishing touch.

Luxe Vest

Luxe Vest

Take your workday style to great lengths with this airy cotton and cashmere vest. Transition this look from the office to weekend plans with distressed, light-wash boyfriend jeans, or go full-on monochromatic with white denim and a nude sandal.

spring jackets

You’re hot then you’re cold. You’re yes then you’re no. The roller coaster weather this time of year is enough to throw anyone for a loop. But don’t sweat it; we’ve gathered the throw-on-and-go spring jackets you need to survive the season’s temperamental temps. Here’s how we’re wearing them now.

Style Salute

Style Salute

We’re seeing a resurgence in modern military jackets this spring, thanks to their easy-to-wear minimalist style. Seek out a jacket with key utilitarian details like snap closures, shoulder epaulets, and flap pockets, and contrast the style’s menswear feel with a ladylike top. Think soft colors, boho prints, lace trims, and ruffled necklines.

Bomb Dot Com

Bomb.com

The bomber is blowing up this spring, and dad jokes aside, this is the jacket to get your hands on this season. The options are nearly endless, but we’re gravitating towards styles in soft blush, sporty black-and-white, army green, and moody florals. To take your look from casual to luxe, try one that’s intricately embroidered or cut from lustrous satin.

Hello Moto

Hello, Moto

Here’s a bright idea: trade in your standard black biker jacket for a punchy or pastel version. The contrast between tough hardware details and a feminine hue strikes a beautiful balance for spring. Pair with distressed denim and a white or neutral patterned tee to ensure your moto is the star of the show.

Tried And True

Tried & True

Denim jackets are a casual classic that we reach for time and time again. Wear with spring’s flirty floral blouses and dresses, or embrace the “Canadian tuxedo” and pair with white skinny jeans or a light-wash chambray shirt. However you decide to style this timeless piece, be sure to choose one with stretch so you can layer comfortably while there’s still a nip in the air.

spring fitness florals

Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.

Each year, we turn to this tried-and-true trend to herald warmer days and new beginnings. That’s not to say that this season’s fitness florals are business as usual. We’re ready to spring forward in far-from-basic blooms that put a whole new spin on a classic. Take a peek at the looks we’ve gathered, bursting with lively colors and luscious prints.

Mix Your Prints

1. Mix Your Prints

Tropical botanicals are accented by jaunty stripes, taking all the work out of nailing the mixed print trend. Complement this legging with a tonal, color-blocked top.

 Blur the Lines

2. Blur the Lines

Blossoms blend together with artful brushstrokes and ink blot splashes, giving this technical garment a handcrafted feel. Add a pop of color up top or keep things neutral in a dark solid.

Look On the Bright Side

3. Look On the Bright Side

Watercolor florals make a splash—whether in vivid, saturated shades or subtle, muted hues. Wear with a pastel top, or try stark white for a quintessential springtime look.

 Be Bold… Really Bold

4. Be Bold… Really Bold

Juicy-hued hibiscus flowers pop against graphic stripes. Showcase this style’s eye-catching, vibrant colors and striking design with a brightly colored top and strappy bra.

spring denim trends

This season’s freshest denim details exude easy, laid-back style. No matter the silhouette, expect raw seams, strategic destruction, and other beautifully unique imperfections to give you a relaxed, lived-in vibe. Kick off spring with a few of our favorite cuts below.

Wear It With Flare

The Kick Flare

A breath of fresh air, the cropped kick flare bares just the right amount of ankle as we welcome warmer days. A substantial shoe is an absolute must; opt for a block or platform heel.

Take a Bold Step

The Step Hem

It’s exciting to see a truly new take on a wardrobe staple. The definition of contemporary cool, a step hem frames any footwear choice, from statement heels to streetwear kicks.

Throw On & Zip Up

The Zipper

Hardware lends an edge to an otherwise expected fit. Add a little rough-around-the-edges distressing to offset spring’s feminine florals, and keep things balanced in a nude, pointed flat.

how to find your measurements

Whether you’re a shopaholic or prefer adding to your wardrobe only occasionally, there’s no denying that online shopping has made feeding your fashion habit super easy. There’s the convenience of ordering from your couch (in your PJs if you’d like), the time you save by not having to walk or drive from store to store, and the sheer number of brands and styles you can explore with just the click of a button. But there is one major disadvantage: not being able to try something on and know it will fit you until it arrives in the mail. After all, what might be a medium in one store could be a small in another and even a large in yet another.

Fortunately for you, the fix is pretty simple: knowing your measurements to figure out your size in everything from dresses and jackets to fitness leggings and even intimates. That’s why we’ve put together an easy guide to discovering all your important measurements, including bust, cup size, waist, hips, and inseam. Just follow the directions below, then check out our size chart to help you figure out the perfect size for you (which comes in handy when you’re ordering one of our Style or Fitness Edits).

What You’ll Need

A measuring tape is easiest to handle, but you can also use an old-fashioned ruler and flexible string. You’ll also want to grab a friend or your partner for a little help (it will only take a couple of minutes to get all your measurements, and you can offer to return the favor afterward).

To Measure Your Bust…

Stand with arms relaxed at your sides, then use the tape to measure around the fullest part of your bust. Go braless or wear an unpadded bra to get the best measurement, and make sure the tape sits snugly against your bust (but not so tight that you flatten or change the shape of your breasts).

To Measure Your Cup Size…

(Heads up: this is a two-step process). Going braless or wearing an unpadded bra, measure around the bottom of your breasts beneath the bust, being sure to keep the tape snug and level from back to front. If the number is even, that’s your band size. If the number is odd, round up to the nearest even number to get your band size.

Next, subtract your band measurement from the bust measurement you found above. Each inch of difference between those two numbers is a cup size (i.e. if the difference is 2 inches, you’re a B cup; if it’s 4 inches, you’re a D cup).

And if you haven’t already guessed, figuring out your bra size is as simple as combining the number of your bust measurement (34, for example) with your cup size.

To Measure Your Waist…

Keeping your arms and body relaxed, slip the measuring tape around the smallest part of your waist. Not sure where that is? Try bending to the side, noting the point at which your body folds.

To Measure Your Hips…

Find and measure the widest part of your hips, noting that it can be at a different spot for every body shape (yours might be above your hip bones, while your BFFs might be below).

To Measure Your Inseam…

Slip into a pair of your best-fitting pants or jeans, then use a measuring tape to find the distance from your crotch to the hem on the pant, going down the inside of your leg. Don’t forget: The inseam will vary based on the type of pant you’re wearing (i.e. ankle pants will have a different inseam than floor-sweeping flared jeans).

Check out our super-detailed size chart (ranging in sizes from XS to 3X) to figure out which size is best suited to your measurement—it works for everything from shirt, dress, and jacket sizing to fitness legging, and sports bra sizing. Once you’ve determined your measurements, all that’s left to do is order one our Style or Fitness Edits and let your stylist know your sizes when filling out your personalized quiz.
