3 Work Looks for That Awkward Spring-to-Summer Transition

Post by Wantable Staff   |   May 19, 2017

Temperatures are rising and the office AC is on full blast. Between the glory of mother nature and the marvel of modern cooling, negotiating workday style and comfort can be tricky business. Thankfully, stylist Noelle is up to the task, giving us three fresh and easy layered work looks to rock from 9-5 all summer long.

Be a Mix Master

Mix style influences for an effortless update; the key is to choose polished pieces with clean lines. Try a preppy, riding-inspired blazer with modern high-waisted trousers and a brightly colored sleeveless shirt. Yellow and chartreuse are my personal favorites this season and look fantastic with any shade of gray.

Embrace the Light

Spring neutrals should be fresh and light, not somber. I’m ditching head-to-toe black for a chic combination of camel, taupe, and white. A perforated or laser cut jacket is the perfect bridge between summer sun and office chill. Complete this minimal look with a matte red lip and killer shades.

Your black blazer can be relied on to add instant polish year-round. A drape-front tuxedo cut is my go-to. Get into the summer spirit by pairing it with a breezy dress in a bold floral print or a saturated solid color like cobalt. Pile on the boho accessories and add strappy black wedge sandals.
