3 Stylist-Approved Ways to Wear Straight-Leg Denim
Post by Wantable Staff | April 26, 2017
Spring calls for foundational pieces you can turn to, no matter the weather. For stylist Lorelle, on-trend denim is essential. While we often see one “it” silhouette each season, this spring anything goes. Lorelle gives us the scoop on the many ways she’s wearing her personal favorite: straight-leg denim.
Girly With an Edge
Lightweight layering is key for spring. I’ve been playing with my style this season by mixing edgier pieces with my feminine classics. Top a statement-making graphic tee with a peplum blazer for the best of both worlds. Cuffed, distressed denim keeps things casual, or you can choose a clean, black pair for a more polished look. A red lip is also a must.
All About the Details
If you’re looking for a more understated way to rock straight-leg denim, choose a pair with subtle detailing like a released hem. To keep the classic-with-a-twist vibe going, I wear a neutral top with a unique or on-trend detail at the neckline like this lace-up style. Keep things balanced with a statement bracelet and dainty stud earrings.
The New Neutrals
About 90% of my wardrobe is black, white, and gray, so I add a few colorful pieces each season to keep things fresh. Blush and military green are spring’s biggest color trends, and both function really well as a livelier neutral. I’ve been swapping beige for blush and black for military green. A bomber and tee in these on-trend colors pair beautifully with a faded pair of straight-leg denim!
